Alliance for Excellence is a partnership of African American churches and four community colleges that work together to promote higher education opportunities for African American young people.
Serving the communities in and around Danville, Lynchburg, Martinsville, and Roanoke, Alliance for Excellence fosters leadership skills, social awareness, and academic excellence in individuals considered at-risk for social and economic difficulties.
Project coordinators in each service region design and direct programs to fulfill these main goals:
- Increase enrollment in participating colleges
- Increase graduation rates
- Increase transfers from two-year to four-year colleges and universities
- Provide spiritual and personal enrichment
